12 Best Songs to use at a Memorial

Memorial Music top 10

I don’t know about you but, finding appropriate music that showcases how much a person means to you and how much you’ll miss them is beyond difficult. However, I LOVE music and I grew up as a dancer so, have been exposed to a variety of different music over the course of my life so far. So, when I think about appropriate memorial music, a few really special songs come to mind and I thought I would share them with you.

  1. Kathy’s Song - Chantel Kreviazuk

  2. Won’t Let Go - Rascal Flats *we used this one at Brady’s memorial

  3. See You Again - Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth

  4. Dancing in the Sky - Micky

  5. The Parting Glass - The High Kings

  6. I’ll be Seeing You - Billie Holiday

  7. Fire and Rain - James Taylor

  8. Into the Mystic - Van Morrison

  9. Seasons of Love - Cast of RENT

  10. Crying for Me - Toby Keith

  11. You Should Be Here - Cole Swindel

  12. Fields of Gold - Eva Cassidy

I hope these are helpful and I would advise NOT just sitting there listening to them all listening to them in the context of grief unless you have to. In putting this list together for you my cheeks were tear stained. But, I do believe these are 12 of the best songs that articulate love, respect and longing.

My goal is to: empathize, encourage and empower you as you move through grief at your own pace. I would be so honoured to be your companion and support you on this journey.
